Linda Thompson

Linda Thompson 67 passed away Saturday, June 7, 2008 in Austin, Texas. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with John Green officiating. Burial will be in Lane Memorial Cemetery, Sunray, Texas. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Linda Thompson was born November 12, 1940 in Finney, Hale County, Texas to Wayne and Kathryne Owens. She was a graduate of Dumas High School with the class of 1958. On November 26, 1959 she married Coy W. Thompson Jr. in Sunray, Texas. She was a longtime resident of Dumas. Linda attended Calvary Baptist Church and First Baptist Church while living in Dumas. After her retirement from Dumas Independent School District they moved to Austin to be near their children and grandchildren. Linda was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in San Marcus. She was preceded in death by; her father, Wayne Owens in 1986; mother Kathryne Owens in 2000; son, Thomas Michael Thompson in 1963; and brothers, Richard Owens in 1967,Dale Owens in 1983, and Donald Owens on May 27, 2008. Survivors include; her husband, Coy of the home; sons, Tim Thompson and wife, Julie of Lorena, and Daniel Thompson and wife, Jennie of Austin; grandchildren, Cody, Erica, Emily and Jacobus; brother,Harold Owens of Dumas; sisters, Peggy Hoefling and Joy Wilson both of Dumas, and Barbara Roberts of Louisburg, Kan.
