Marcus Marion Criswell passed from this life on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the age of 88. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Church of Christ in Sunray. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.Marcus Marion Criswell, was born July 9, 1933, in Temple, TX to Arthur and Jessie (Hooten) Criswell. He married Joan Smith December 26, 1955, at Lometa, TX. Marcus graduated from Texas Tech in 1958 with a degree in mechanical engineering. Among the 37 years of his career, 31 were for Diamond Shamrock, retiring in 1996. He was an active member of the Church of Christ in Sunray, TX, where he loved to teach the adult Bible class.He was proud to say “I’m a Girl Scout”, as an active volunteer driving the bus and serving as general “fix-it” man. He camped with son Randy’s Boy Scout troop.He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.He is survived by: Joan, his wife of almost 66 years, and of late, his loving caregiver; 3 children:Celia Setliff and husband Dennis, of Albuquerque, NM, Randy Criswell and wife Janie, of Mineral Wells, TX, Darla Criswell-Fusaz and husband Edy, of Luxembourg, Europe; 4 grandchildren: Amanda Adair and husband Michael, of Lubbock, TX, Adam Setliff and wife Julie, of Lubbock, TX, Carli Hassell and husband Chris, of Grand Prairie, TX, Jacob Criswell, of Eastland, TX; 8 great-grandchildren: Skylar, Kameryn, Avery, Carson, and Hazlie Adair, Mason, Morgan, and Elliot Setliff.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to: High Plains Children Home, PO Box 7448, Amarillo, TX 79114 and In Search of the Lord’s Way, PO Box 371, Edmond, OK, 73083.
