Margaret B. Cook, 88, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2009. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, June 8, 2009 at Louisburg Kansas Cemetery with Rev. Sandy Harris, pastor of First Christian Church, Louisburg, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Margaret Cook was born July 10, 1920 in Westline, Missouri to Fred M. and Ollie M. Evans. On June 15, 1941 she married Dwight Cook in Kansas City, KS. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1985. She was a 50 year member of the Paola Order of the Eastern Star and long time member and president of American Legion Women's Auxilary Unit 224 of Dumas. She had been a resident of Dumas since 1970. Prior to that she had lived in Greensburg and Louisburg, KS. She was a member of First Christian Church of Dumas.
She was also preceded in death by sisters, Josephine Evans and Georgia Machin.
Survivors include; sons, David E. Cook and wife, Beth of Roswell, NM and Randy Cook of Hobbs, NM; step-son Charles H. Johnston and wife, Mollie of Cobden, IL; sister, Virginia Kimzey of Manhattan, KS; nephew, Harvey J. McCarter of Dallas; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
