Maria Castaneda Martinez

Maria Castaneda Martinez, 85, formerly of North Manchester, IN, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024, in Dumas, Tx. She will be available for viewing on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 10 o’clock in the morning until 8 o’clock in the evening. A funeral service will be held that evening at 6 o'clock with Rev. Anthony Chavez officiating in Morrison Memorial Chapel. Cremation will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson`Morrison Funeral Directors.

Maria was born on September 16, 1938, in Chupaderos, Villa Garcia Zacatecas, Mexico to Antonio and Maria Loreto (Martinez) Castaneda. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved cooking and sewing for her family. Later in life, Maria made her way to North Manchester, Indiana and then to Dumas, TX to be near family. She adored her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers and sisters, and a son: Dionicio Hernandez.

Maria is survived by her sons: Israel and Rene Hernandez of Dumas; daughter: Delia Castaneda of El Paso, Tx; grandchildren: Edgar Hernandez of Arkansas and Roy Hernandez of Dumas and Diana Janet Orona, Alonso Palomo, Gabriel Palomo and Stephanie Polini all of El Paso, Tx. She is also survived by many other numerous family and friends.
