Maria De Jesus Hernandez

Maria De Jesus Hernandez, 89, of Dumas, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Morrison Memorial Chapel, interment will be held at a later date in El Paso, TX. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Maria was born on June 16, 1928 in Mexico, to Santiago and Donicia (Tabarres) Chagaya. Maria was an excellent cook for her family and in her younger years, she loved music, dancing and attending church. Once she moved to Dumas, she was very active at the nursing home where she enjoyed playing bingo and dominoes. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother and sister. Maria is survived by her children: Blanca Estella Carranza of El Paso, TX, Luisa Longino of Dilley, TX, Yolanda Avalos of Sunray, TX, Jesse Grado of El Paso, TX, Irma Irene Martinez of Dumas, TX, Pablo Hernandez of Hastings, NE, Jaime Arturo Hernandez of El Paso, TX; 21 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
