Maria Socorro Sotelo

Maria Socorro Sotelo, 70 of Dumas, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2015. Funeral Services are scheduled for 3 o' clock in the afternoon on Monday, December 14, 2015 at Templo Betel with Rev. Herlinda Meras officiating. Interment will follow in Dumas Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6 o' clock in the evening on Sunday at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas. Maria was born on October 20, 1945 in Durango, MX to Jose and Consepcion (Flores) Santillanes. She was a longtime resident of Dumas. Maria was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a passion for helping others and strived to help the community. Maria was of Assembly of God faith and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister: Aurelia Santillanes. Maria is survived by her daugthers: Margarita Garcia and Teresa DeLaTorre both of Dumas, Maria Del Carmen Garcia of Amarillo; sons: Armando Sotelo Santillanes, Armando Sotelo Cantu both of Amarillo; sisters: Hilda Santillanes of Cactus, Consepcion Santillanes, Nickolasa Santillanes, Julia Santillanes, Maria Del Carmen Santillanes all of Mexico City, MX; brothers: Manuel and Jose Luis Santillanes of Mexico City, MX; nineteen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
