Marie Luella Johnson Kanagy

Marie Luella Johnson Kanagy, 94 of Sunray, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023.  Memorial services will be held at half past ten o’clock in the morning on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Seth Seale, pastor of the church, officiating.  Private family interment will be held in Lane Memorial Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.  

Marie was born on March 11, 1929 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota to George and Ida May (Holdeman) Johnson.  She married Attrenis Kanagy on May 2, 1948; he preceded her in death.  Marie was a homemaker and a member of the Mennonite Church in Perryton, TX.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings: Harold, Elmer, Ralph, Kenny, Floyd, Fay, Earl, Ruth, Alicia, and Ethyl; daughter: Angelyn Kanagy Kauffman.

She is survived by her children: Attrenis Kanagy and wife Mary, Alden Kanagy and wife Judy and Bev Brown and husband Bill; grandchildren: Chris Kauffman and wife Trish, Carey Kauffman and wife Alison, Jordan Kanagy Sims, Susan Garmany and wife Lee, Health Wiebe, Brice Wiebe, Aaron Woods, Kara Nedich, Stephen Brown and family; Daniel Espino and family and Rebecca Cruz and family; great grandchildren: McKinley, Alex and Angela Kauffman, Parker Garmany, Joey, Connor and Adam Sims; sister: Grace Shantz; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
