Marilyn Vines

Marilyn Vines, 64 of Dumas, passed away on Monday March 12, 2012. Services are scheduled for 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Dumas. Rev. Jerry Howe, pastor of the church will be officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Marilyn was born on February 24, 1948 in Amarillo, Texas to Billy and Lela Persons Hutcheson. She was a graduate of Quitaque High School, and went on to attend West Texas State University. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Vines on March 1, 1968 in Quitaque. They moved to Dumas in 1973, where she remained a member of the community until her death. He preceded her in death on September 7, 2009. Marilyn was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved taking care of her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she actively served. She loved attending church and reading scripture. Marilyn loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time in the mountains and working in her yard. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her grandson, Chase play sports. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. In addition to her husband, Kenneth, she was also preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Lela Hutcheson, and her brother, Ron Hutcheson. Marilyn is survived by one son, Evan Vines and wife Robin of Dumas three grandchildren, Chase Vines, Brianna Anchondo and husband Jorge, and Madisen Boyett, all of Dumas two great grandchildren, Avery and Ezra Anchondo one brother, Ray Hutcheson and wife Donna of Hideaway two nieces, Paula Aguirre of Fulshaer and Roni LiAnn Richards of Jacksonville, NC two nephews, Bill Hutcheson of McKinney and Lance Hutcheson of Longview and one sisterinlaw, Morzetta Schmidt of Delta, CO The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist, Building Fund, P. O. Box 617, Dumas, TX 79029. The family will be at 115 N. Maddox in Dumas.
