Mary F. Abernathy

Mary F. Abernathy, 80 of Dumas, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10 o\x92 clock in the morning on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Temple Baptist Church with Rev Jay McGaughy, pastor of the church, officiating. Graveside Services will be at 2 o\x92 clock in the afternoon at Lovington Cemetery in Lovington, NM on Thursday, May 28, 2015. The family will receive friends from 5-7 o\x92 clock in the evening at the funeral home on Tuesday. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Mary was born on July 29, 1934 to James and Bertha (Williams) Parker in Madill, OK. She enjoyed crocheting, word puzzles and reading, especially her bible. She was an animal lover and enjoyed the beauties of nature. Mary loved all her family dearly and cherished every moment she got to spend with them. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and will be missed by all her family and friends. She is preceded in death by: her husband: C.D. Abernathy; her parents; two sisters: Virginia Rainbolt and Alice Markham and three nephews. Mary is survived by four children: Robert Dale Abernathy and wife Shana of Kingsland, Tonya Thompson of Hobbs, Terry Abernathy and wife Tammy of Lovington and Sheila James and Husband Randy of Dumas; eight grandchildren: Chance Abernathy and wife Christie of Lovington, Jessica Hunter and Cody Cook both of Dumas, Ashleigh Thompson-Sanchez and husband Robert, Jaden and Keeley Thompson all of Hobbs, Daniel Abernathy of Marble Falls, Stephanie \x93Stevie\x94 Abernathy of Arlington; two great grandchildren: Kimber Grace Abernathy and Bentleigh Brooklyne Sanchez; niece: Deborah Woods; nephew: Paul Rainbolt and several other nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to Memorial Hospice, 224 E 2nd, Dumas, TX 79029. The family will be at 10852 E McClary Rd.
