Mary Beth Carder

Mary Beth Carder, 84 of Dumas, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2015. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Howe, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 o'clock until 8 o'clock in the evening on Monday at the funeral home. Services are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Mary was born on January 27, 1931 in Okeene, OK to Gerald and Hildreth (Benham) Cook. She was united in marriage to Bob Carder on April 8, 1949 in Altus, OK; he preceded her in death on December 29, 2013. Mary had been a resident of Dumas since 1956. She was a member of First Baptist Church for almost 60 years. Mary enjoyed reading, working her crossword puzzles and especially singing songs to her grandchildren. Family was very important to Mary; she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her husband, Bob, she is also preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Gwen Giles and Jane Levick. Mary is survived by her daughter: Jeri Pardue of Dumas; sons: Bruce Carder of Dumas and Randy Carder and wife Pam of Temple, TX; grandchildren: Chad Gregory, Kelly Bradberry, Stacy Gorsuch, Colby Gregory, Aaron Carder, Ben Carder, and Brittany Carder; and brother-in-law: Bill Carder and wife Sallie Jo of Altus, OK. The family suggests memorials be made to First Baptist Church Senior Adult Program, PO Box 617, Dumas, TX 79029. The family will be at 410 Beard.
