Mary Kathryn Carter DeShane

Mary Kathryn Carter DeShane, 90, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2010. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, May 11, at Calvary Baptist Church with Milton Pax and Dale Dawson, long time family friends officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mary was born December 8, 1919 in Mesquite, Texas to Ollie and Selma Seago. On December 25, 1940 she married William P. Bill Carter and he preceded her in death. On July 25, 1987 she married Dee DeShane in Dumas. She was a nursery worker at Calvary Baptist Church for many years and she also worked in the kitchen for the Dumas Noon Lions. She had been a resident of Dumas for 63 years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Bobbie Reid and brother Sam Seago. Survivors include her husband, Dee of the home daughters, Sharon Burnett and husband Mike of Dumas, Kay Blake and husband Bill of Amarillo son, Al Carter and wife Peggy of San Angelo 11 grandchildren and numerous greatgrandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Memorial Hospital and Memorial Hospice and her many friends for their care, prayers and support. The family suggests memorial be to Memorial Hospice, 224 E. 2nd, Dumas, TX 79029 or to a favorite charity. The family will be at 503 S. Birge in Dumas.
