Mary Lynn Garth, 67 of Dumas, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021. Memorial Services will be held at 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at First United Methodist Church with Gordon Clark officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. A complete obituary will appear soon. Mary Lynn was born November 7,1953 in Amarillo, Texas to Pat and Arline McDowell. She was raised in Dumas surrounded by her wonderful family and many precious friends. She was an avid wife and Mother, she loved her husband and children and her grandchildren were her life. She had many adventures in life from owning a business with her best friend Janis to being a travel agent. Mary finally made the decision to be a restaurateur and opened The Alley Cafe in September 2001 with much help from so many friends and family. She loved to cook and loved all who came to visit. Mary was known throughout the community for her cooking and wonderful food, especially steak nights and Sunday brunches. Every Sunday brunch you could find Mary Lynn cooking and making biscuits with her dad, enjoying every minute. She served the Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center for many years as well as The Cow Bells, Esprit Club, Pilot club and volunteered for Hospice. She loved everyone as if they belonged to her. Mary lived life to the fullest and had a good time and was the life of the party everywhere she went. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and nephew Jake McDowell. Mary Lynn is survived by her husband Mike Garth of the home, son Toad and wife Sheryl Garth of Pampa Texas, daughter Stacy and Husband Mike Roberts of Logan, New Mexico, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brothers: Mike and wife Susan McDowell and Dan and wife Kathy McDowell and several nieces and nephews. She was an amazing woman and will be missed by all.
