Mary Lee Gomez

Mary Lee Gomez, 95, passed away Monday, June 28, 2010. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 30, at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jay McGaughy, pastor of Temple Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mary Gomez was born December 31, 1914 in Claude, Texas to Barney H. and Julia Boulware. In July 1944 she married Martin Gomez in Amarillo, Texas. He preceded her in death. She worked 30 years as a store clerk for Gibsons and Perrys. She was a baby sitter for many area families. Mary had been a resident of Dumas for 40 years and was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brothers, W.F. and Cecil Boulware. Survivors include daughters, Barbara Hughes of Dumas and Sheila Curtis and husband Steve of Lubbock grandsons, Terry Hughes and wife Cathy of Amarillo, Mark Causer and wife Anna of Tucson, AZ, Jim Causer of Ruidoso, NM, Robert Causer and wife Genny of Lubbock 9 Great Grandchildren 17 GreatGreatGrandchildren many nieces, nephews and cousins her extended family, Mildred Clawson and family, Jack and Betty Hughes and family. The family suggests memorials be to Memorial Hospice, 224 E. 2nd, Dumas, TX. 79029. The family will be at 512 Spruce.
