Mary Grace Regier, 87 formerly of Dumas, passed away on Sunday, June 30,2024. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 o'clock in the morning on Friday, July 5, 2024, at First Methodist Church with Pastor Matt Brown, pastor of the church, officiating, assisted by Joye Watson. Interment will follow in Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. Mary Grace will be availble for viewing on Friday from 8 o'clock until half past 9 o'clock in the morning at the church.
Mary Grace was born on July 23, 1936, in Partridge, KS to Herbert and Oleta (Mitchell) Sharp. She was very active in 4-H growing up and attended school in Rosston where she graduated from high school. She then went on to graduate from Panhandle State University and taught elementary school in Cactus from 1972 until her retirement in 1996. She married Cecil Regier on December 21, 1954, in Rosston, OK; he preceded her in death in 2018. Mary Grace was an excellent cook and seamstress. She taught her daughter to cook at the age of 8 and made several suits for her husband and son. After retirement, Mary Grace and Cecil spent 15 years working on building church facilities on the eastern side of the Navajo Indian Reservation. Mary Grace was longtime member of the First Methodist Church in Dumas.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Mary is survived by her son: David Ray and wife Janice of Amarillo, TX; daughter: Patti Martin and husband David of Irving, TX; sister: Sue Merett.
