Mary Lou Walden, 81 of Stratford passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 11 o'clock in the morning on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Stratford with Rev. Billy Ramage, officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Mary Lou was born on November 12, 1934 in Stratford to John and Mary Rebecca (Beauchamp) Lavake. She was a lifelong resident of Stratford and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Cactus-Etter. Mary Lou loved church and church activities. Mary Lou always spoke her mind, there was never any doubt how she felt. She also enjoyed having her hair done once a week, and traveling to Branson to watch the shows. Mary Lou's greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and great-grandson: Jackson Walden. Mary Lou is survived by her sons: John Walden and wife Sharon of Mineral Wells and Philip Walden and wife Kristi of Stratford; daughter: Laura Brown and husband Ross of Borger; grandchildren: John Robert Walden, Will Walden, Nathaniel Walden and wife Keri, Skyler Walden and wife Alisha, Harrison Walden and wife Alison, Meredith Kautz and husband Josh, and Jordan Evans; and great-grandchildren: Klaire and Kooper Walden. The family request memorials be made to Stratford Education Foundation, PO Box 108, Stratford, TX 79084, or Memorial Hospice, 224 E 2nd, Dumas, TX 79029, or a favorite charity. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dumas Memorial Hospital, Memorial Hospice, and Dr. Opara, for the care given to Mary Lou.
