Melvin F. Caudle, 88, of Fritch, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, July 10 at 10 o'clock in the morning at First Presbyterian Church with Keith Hight officiating. Interment will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Family visitation will be on Monday, July 9 from 5 -7 o'clock in the evening at Morrison Funeral Directors. Melvin was a member of the First Presbyterian Church since 1951. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Melvin was born June 12, 1930 in Meeker, Oklahoma to Edgar Paul and Elsie Jane (Garrett) Caudle. He moved to Dumas in 1950 and went to work for Southwestern Public Service Company at the Moore County Power Plant and transferred to Amarillo Harrington Station in 1975 and retired in 1991.
He married Helen Francis Noel in Dumas on July 3, 1951. He was a member of the Dumas Masonic Lodge #1009 earning his 60 year pin in 2010. Melvin was a resident of Fritch for over 18 years, and he loved to travel, go camping and fishing. He was also known for his gardening and yardwork.
In addition to his wife Helen, and his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by two brothers and a granddaughter.
Melvin is survived by his daughters: Nancy Clymer and husband Frank of Wheeler, TX and Shirley Figueredo and husband Tony of Dumas; son: Geary Caudle and wife Debra of Amarillo. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, as well as his very special friend Margie Brookmole.
