M.H. 'Buddy' Hudgins, 90, formerly of Dumas, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Life Tabernacle Church with Rev. Mark Wallis, pastor of the church officiating. Interment will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 in the evening on Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Buddy was born July 24, 1926 in Haworth OK to Joseph Hilly and Stella (Jones) Hudgins. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during World War II in Germany. He was united in marriage to Lucille Murray on December 24, 1948 in Kilgore, TX. The couple eventually made their home in Dumas, Lucille preceded him in death in the year 2000. He later married Virginia Poe and she also preceded him in death. Buddy was a mechanic at Excel Helium Plant where he retired from in 1986. Buddy loved to play the guitar at church and enjoyed his time spent with the grandparent group, which met every Friday at alternating homes for fellowship and a meal. He loved drinking coffee and spending time with his family where much laughter was shared. He was a founding member of the Life Tabernacle Church.
In addition to his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, and a great grandchild, Madison Kelley.
He is survived by his children: Pam McAlister and husband Doyle of Overgaard, AZ, Dickey Hudgins and wife Cindy of Palmer AK, Tanya Koch and husband Floyd of Pampa, TX and Tim Hudgins and wife Yvonne of Gilmer, TX; 1 brother, 4 sisters, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
