Mildred Cleora McCutchan, 96 of Dumas, passed away on May 13, 2016. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Monday, May 16, 2016 at First Assembly of God with Rev. Damon Akins, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday at Great Plains Nursing and Rehab Conference Room. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Mildred was born on November 9, 1919 in Sherman, TX to John and Ettie (Walker) James. She married the love of her life, Dewart 'Buster' McCutchan in Clovis, NM in 1941. Mildred had been a resident of Dumas for over 75 years. She loved to garden and paint as well as antiques and dolls. She was also an excellent cook. Mildred was devoted to her family and a member of First Assembly God Church. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: J.D., and Weldon Ray James; two sisters: Opal and Billy Margaret James; a son: Barry.
Mildred is survived by her husband Dewart 'Buster' McCutchan, of the home; son: Jerry McCutchand and wife Doris of Dumas; grandchildren: Russell McCutchan and wife Dr. Wenda of Fayateville, NC, Scott McCutchan and wife Mem of Yukon, OK, and Jay McCutchan and wife Susan of Dumas; great-grandchildren; Sierra, Grant, Molly Olivia, Samuel, and Jack; daughter-in-law: Denise McCutchan; and numerous other extended family members.
