Millard Mack McGalliard Jr, 84, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2009 in Amarillo. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 21, 2009 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Wyatt Carpenter, family friend officiating. Another service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Trinity United Methodist Church, in Denton, with Rev. John Peel officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Mack McGalliard was born June 10, 1925 in Comanche, Texas to Bertha Hybernia and Millard Mack McGalliard Sr. On May 26, 1948 he married Katherine Lucille Peel in Denton, Texas. She preceded him in death on April 1, 2009. He was a farmer, rancher, truck driver, carpenter, construction worker, boot maker and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He had been a resident of Dumas for 18 years.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, son, Jack McGalliard, grandsons, Mark McGalliard, Paul Wheeler, Christopher McGalliard; sister, Nona Geneva Smith and his brother, Carl McGalliard.
Survivors include; sons, Curtis McGalliard and wife, Mary Lou of Burch Tree, MO, Thomas McGalliard and wife, Linda of Argyle, Amos McGalliard and wife Gaylon of Dumas, Phillip McGalliard and wife, Toni of Aurora, CO, Douglas McGalliard and wife, Kris of Amarillo; daughter, Kathryn Swift and husband Ed of Argyle; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Cooper McGalliard of Trinity and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Deberry Funeral Directors, 2025 W. University Dr, Denton, TX 76201.
