Millie Caraway

Millie Caraway, 76 of Dumas, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023. Memorial Services are scheduled for 11 o’clock in the morning on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Brent Clark, officiating. Graveside services will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia, TX at 2 o’clock later that day.  The family will receive friends from 6 o’clock until 8 o’clock in the evening on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. 

Millie was born on June 9, 1947, in Tulia, TX to W.A and Levenia (Gayler) Doan.  She was united in marriage to Paul Caraway and the couple made Dumas their home where they raised their three daughters.  Millie was a beautician in her early years, later worked for Farm Bureau and eventually opened Caraway Insurance Company with her husband.  After the insurance company was sold, she operated Callies Cottage and Cookie Jar until 2014.  Millie was a member of the Tulia First Christian Church and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Paul.

Millie is survived by her daughters: Rhonda Soapes and husband Carson of Amarillo, TX, Callie Halls of St. Louis, MO and Marci Darcy and husband William of Dumas, TX; grandchildren: Cannon, Rylee, Tristin, Jaxin, Gillian, Chloe, and Ellie; brothers: Dale Doan and wife Jeri of Wilderado, TX, Paul Doan and wife Zoe of Amarillo, TX, and James Doan of Amarillo, TX.
