Mollie Kay Tipton

Mollie Kay Tipton, 77 of Dumas passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2020. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 oclock in the afternoon on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Kevin Anderson, officiating. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Mollie was born on February 21, 1942 to Alfred Jay Sr. and Floydie Marie (Reames) Fritts. She attended school and graduated from Channing High School. After school, Mollie had several jobs including a seamstress at Vis Alterations, worked at TG&Y and eventually worked at JBS Swift as an inventory clerk and bookkeeper until her retirement in 1995. Mollie married Floyd "Bear" Tipton on December 10, 1988 in Dumas, TX. Mollie had several hobbies including collecting dolls, working with crafts, and sewing doll clothes that had tremendous detail. She and Bear also enjoyed bowling for several years and loved going to the mountains to camp out. She attended Bethel Assembly of God Church in Dumas, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents; son: Joey Jay Slagle; daughter-in-law: Connie Sue Slagle. Mollie is survived by her husband Floyd "Bear" Tipton of the home; children: Kela Kay Kerns and Andy Eichmann of Adrian, MN, Bobbye Dawn Faris of Amarillo, TX, Deborah Gonzales, Michael Tipton and wife Kelley of Clovis, NM, and Danny Tipton of Amarillo, TX; siblings: Alfred Jay Fritts, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Las Lunas, NM, Betty Lou "Peach" Fritts of Dumas, TX, Jerry Wayne Fritts and wife Elaine of Norco, CA, and David Lynn Fritts and wife Cheryl of League City, TX; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
