Myrt Baugus

Myrt Baugus, 72 of Dumas, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2011. Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Monday, November 14, 2011 at Temple Baptist Church in Dumas. Rev. Jay McGaughy, pastor of the church will be officiating. Interment will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. There will be a family visitation at Morrison Funeral Directors in Dumas from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 13, 2011. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Myrt was born on June 6, 1939 in Amarillo, Texas to Dee and Ina Meier. She was united in marriage to George Baugus on September 29, 1956 in Clayton, New Mexico. He preceded her in death in 1997. Myrt had lived her entire life in Dumas. She was associated with Temple Baptist Church in Dumas. Myrt was a devoted housewife, and a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, and she was an avid bingo hall attendee. Most of all, she loved spending time making memories with her family. In addition to her husband, George, Myrt was preceded in death by her grandson, Drew Baugus. Myrt is survived by one son, Carlton Baugus and wife Shawna of Dumas two daughters, Belinda Baugus of Amarillo and Cathy B. Lovett and husband Billy of Springtown, TX one grandson, Taylor Baugus and wife Linnsey two granddaughters, Stassi Cisneros and husband Louie, and Morgan Allen two great grandchildren, Taylyn and Isabella Cisneros and one brotherinlaw, Billy Jack Baugus and wife Melba of Andrews. The family suggests memorials be to Olivias Angels, P. O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105, or to Temple Baptist Church, 311 N. Maddox, Dumas, TX 79029. The family will be at 117 Ted in Dumas.
