Nelda Margaret Guzman Carter, 50, of Dumas, died Tuesday, February 27, 2007, in Dumas. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 1, 2007, in Morrison Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 2, 2007, at 2:00 PM in Sts. Peter Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Albaladejo, pastor, officiating. Nelda was born May 3, 1956, in Tulia, TX to Gilbert and Rafaela Guzman. She had been a Dumas resident since 1985 and worked as a clerk in retail sales. On December 27, 1991, she married Bill Carter in Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by one daughter: Robin Graham; her parents, Gilbert and Rafaela Guzman and one brother, Ernest Guzman. Survivors include: her husband, Bill Carter of the home; one daughter, Carrie Graham of Lubbock and one son James Carter of the home; five sisters, Isabell Saenz and Geneva Saenz both of Dumas, Lucy Casares of Dimmitt, Penny Guzman of Austin and Vicki Guzman of Amarillo and three brothers, Gilbert Guzman, Jr. of Amarillo, Paul Guzman of Dumas and Joe Guzman of Kress. The family will be at 1001 Phillips Drive in Dumas.
