Nelda Ann McLain

Nelda Ann McLain, 93 of Stratford, formerly of Perryton, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025. Graveside services will be held at 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Ochiltree County Cemetery with Pastor David Myers, pastor of First Christian Church in Stratford, officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 o’clock to 11 o’clock in the morning on Monday at the funeral home in Stratford. Arrangements are entrusted to Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Nelda was born on October 23, 1931, in Blair, OK to Lester “Happy” and Letha (Cagle) Elliott. She was united in marriage to Dale McLain on March 19, 1976, in Perryton, TX; he preceded her in death in 2006. Nelda was an excellent homemaker who loved to take care of her yard and mow. Above all, she adored her grandchildren, great grandchildren and enjoyed following all their activities. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Perryton.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Michael in 2009.

Nelda is survived by her son, Jimmy Lanning and wife Sheila of Stratford, TX; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
