Nettie Mae (Isham) Harding, 100 of Stratford, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015. Due to her wishes there will be no service. Arrangments are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas. Nettie was born December 11, 1914, to Lora and Hillery Isham in Texico, New Mexico., The family homesteaded in Oklahoma. She grew up in Clinton, Oklahoma and attended Clinton Business College. She married Wayne Harding in 1934 and they had three children; JoWayne Summerour, Dalhart, Texas, George Harding, Stratford, Texas and Lorelei Funk, Dalhart. Nettie and Wayne made their home in Stratford. Nettie and Irene Wakefield started the library for Stratford in a spare room in the Courthouse and it has grown to be a wonderful institution for the town. She loved playing bridge and reading, scrabble and working crossword puzzles. She always was very knowledgeable about what was happening locally and worldwide in the news. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stratford and Dalhart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, and two sisters, Mable Hawkins, and Virgie Biddy. She is survived by three children, six grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and five great, great grandchildren and one sister, Esta Phipps of Oklahoma City. The family suggests that memorials be made to Sherman County Public Library in Stratford, Texas 79084.
