Nicacio Nevarez Reyez

Nicacio Nevarez Reyez, 66 of Dumas, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Gabriel Garcia as celebrant. The Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, May 31, at 6 o'clock in the evening at Morrison Memorial Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Nicacio was born on May 8, 1950 in Durango, Mexico to Marcos and Marcelina (Reyez) Nevarez. After High School, he married Sylvia Nevarez on May 27, 1968 in Juarez, Mexico. Together they made their home in Dumas, TX and just celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary. Nicacio was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Dumas and was a Rendering Foreman for JBS. Nicacio enjoyed many hobbies. He loved collecting and working on old cars, either keeping them or selling them again. Nicacio was a loving and devoted father who loved to cook out with the family, especially on holidays, and vacationing with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister. Nicacio is survived by his wife Sylvia, of the home, daughters: Sylvia Chavez and husband Juan of El Paso, and Olympia DeLaCruz and husband Felipe of Dumas; sons: Nick Nevarez and wife Cecilia, Wences Nevarez and wife Evelyn, all of Dumas, Abel Nevarez of El Paso, and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Nevarez of Dumas; brothers: Guadalupe Nevarez, and Jorge Nevarez both of El Paso; many numerous half brothers and sisters; 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchilidren. The family will be at 6353 FM 722, Dumas, TX
