Norma Walthall

Norma Walthall, 77, of Dumas, died Thursday, August 3, 2006 in Dumas. Services will be Tuesday, August 8, 2006, at 2:00 PM in Morrison Memorial Chapel with Rev. Winfred Walker, staff minister at Morrison Funeral Directors, officiating. Norma was born November 12, 1928, in Ochiltree County, TX to James Orman and Ethel A. Hibbs. She was a longtime Amarillo resident, retiring in 1988 from Southwestern Public Service and moving to Dumas. She was an Executive Secretary for SPS for over 25 years and during her tenure, she received many awards and accolades. She was a longtime member of the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce and attended Amarillo College for advertising. Survivors include: two sons: A. W. Walthall, Jr. of Orange County, CA and Travis Walthall of Denver, CO; three daughters: Tillie Dungan of Amarillo, TX, Terri Kemp of Dalhart, TX and Sylvia Sullivan of Las Vegas, NV; one brother: Chuck Larner of Dumas, TX; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Viewing will be from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday. The family will be at 701 Floyd in Dumas.
