Norman Midkiff, 82 of Dumas, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 o'clock in the morning on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Dumas Cemetery with Pastor Seth Seal officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 o'clock until 7 o'clock in the evening on Wednesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Norman was born on August 29, 1936 in Wapato, WA to Cliff and Helen (Westaby) Tucker. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1953 and served in the Korean Conflict as a destruction of chemical and biological agents and ammunition, earning the National Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Norman was employed by Boeing in Seattle, Washington for 10 years and at the time was the youngest supervisor. He married Lucille Paul on May 18, 1957 in Sunnyside, WA; the couple would move to Dumas in 1973 where they made their home. Norman attended the Commercial Ag Aviation Academy for Rotorcraft Helicopter and worked for Jack Oldham Oil as a crop duster for 30 years until he retired. In his spare time, Norman enjoyed woodworking and welding. Norman was a protestant and will be missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Norman is survived by his wife Lucille of the home; daughter: Sherri Hannaford and husband David of Pocahontas, AR; grandchildren: Tandon Tipton and wife Latisha of Canyon, TX, Trey Tipton and wife Crystal of Dumas, TX and Tyler Tipton and fianc Kristle of Maynard, AR; brother: Troy Midkiff and wife Alice of Vancouver, WA; sister: Carol McMaster and husband Roy of Salem, OR; sister in law: Leola Parent of Yakima WA; 13 great grandchildren.
