Ollie Bonita Jameson Perky, 95 of Dumas, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2015. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 2 o' clock in the afternoon on Friday, July 17, 2015, at First Baptist Church with Rev Jerry Howe, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas.
She was born November 30, 1919, in Dalhart, the daughter of Finis Franklin and Mattie Harp Jameson. She attended Dumas High School then married Arthur Arvel Perky in January 1939. He died in 1981. She lived in Moore County most of her life and was a member of First Baptist Church of Dumas where she sang in the Happy Timers choir and was a volunteer for Vacation Bible School. She was a longtime volunteer ombudsman for nursing homes in Dumas and the Texas Panhandle. She also volunteered at the food pantry and drove for FISH.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, her husband and her son, Arvel Lee Perky.
Survivors include two daughters, DeAnne Eslick of Dumas and Lola Starkey and husband Jess of New Mexico; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Perky of Felt; eight granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
