Otha Mae Weatherford McMorries

Otha Mae Weatherford McMorries, 95 of Dumas passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2022. Graveside services are scheduled for 11 o’clock in the morning on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Lane Memorial Cemetery. Memorial will follow at 2 o’clock that afternoon at Sunray Church of Christ with Ben Mereness officiating.  Arrangements are entrusted to Beeson Morrison Funeral Directors.

Otha was born on June 7, 1927, to Nathaniel and Myrtle (Hurst) Grimes in Kennedale, TX. She married Leamon E. Weatherford on October 19, 1948, who died July 29, 1972, and later married Bill R. McMorries on September 18, 2003, he also preceded her in death on August 1, 2015. Otha was a member of Sunray church of Christ.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Oleta Fay Roe and Olla Frances Grogg; grandson: Mitchell Moore.

Otha is survived by her two daughters: Connie Crawford and husband Bill of Amarillo, Carolyn Moore and husband Tom of Sunray; son: Melvin Weatherford and wife Michelle of Sunray; stepchildren: Kim McMorries and wife Debbie of Nacogdoches, Marcia Weaver and husband Bill of Plano, and Stephanie Brennan and husband Kevin of Amarillo; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
