Ozetta Love, 85, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2009 in Dumas. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, May 4, 2009 at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Jay McGaughy, pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Ozetta Love was born December 5, 1923 in Wylie, Texas to F.M. and Emma Housewright. She served in the Womens Army Corp WAC during WWII as a medical aid. On June 20, 1953 she married Sam Love in Tulsa, Okla. He preceded her in death on June 4, 1979. She was a homemaker and loved to crochet, work with her hands and work outdoors. Ozetta had been a resident of Dumas since 1954 and was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her brother, J.R. Housewright and four infant siblings.
Survivors include; her daughter, Belinda Irvin and husband Keven, granddaughter, April Washington and husband, Anson, all of Dumas; grandson, Kris Irvin and wife, Nanette of Arlington; great-granddaughter, Aaliyah Desirae Washington of Dumas; brothers, George Housewright and wife Dora of Dallas, Glen Housewright and wife Cinda of Wylie; sisters, Elsie Frye and Eula Brundidge both of Wylie; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials be to Temple Baptist Church, Building Fund, 311 N. Maddox, Dumas, TX 79029 or to Memorial Hospice, 224 E. 2nd, Dumas, TX 79029.
The family will be at 1407 Twichell in Dumas.
