Patricia Ann Carroll "Pat" Boren passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 oclock in the afternoon on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at the Stratford Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Directors. Pat was born on August 12, 1933 in Miami, FL to Manley Eugene and Mildred Adams Carroll. She was a resident of Miami and Raleigh, NC during her childhood and teen years. She married Bill Boren in Raton, NM on December 22, 1953 and were married for 58 years until his death in 2011. Pat was a true horsewoman, owning and showing horses most of her life. She won multiple championships over the years with her horses. She was also active in the Kerrick community and a member of the successful and well-traveled Kerrick bowling team for many years. She was an avid follower of the Irish Tenors singing group and met them all personally. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents, Manley and Mildred Carroll, her brother Gene Carroll, who was one of the NASA engineers on the original Apollo moon landing program. She is survived by her son, Dr. J.B. Boren and wife Jennifer of Canyon, TX; a daughter, Kerry Carlisle and husband Kelly of Abernathy, TX; six grandchildren: Will Boren and wife Jennifer of San Antonio, TX, Brice Boren and wife Macy of Orlando, FL, Callie Boren and Ryan Boren of Waco, TX, Kevin Carlisle and wife Janelle of Lubbock, TX, and Kole Carlisle also of Lubbock, TX; multiple nieces, nephews and grandcousins. The family suggests the following memorials be made in lieu of flowers: Accolade Hospice, Sky West Assisted Living in Canyon or the Hand in Hand in Africa.
