Patricia Ann Capps

Patricia Ann Capps, 76, of Dumas, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in Dumas. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 o'clock in the morning on Monday, December 4, 2017, at the Church of Christ in Sunray, with Jonathan Zerby, officiating. Interment will follow at 4 o'clock, at Morton Cemetery in Morton, TX. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Patricia was born on January 23, 1941 in Ballinger, TX to L.B. and Lola Mae (Harrison) Davenport. She was united in marriage to Jim Capps on August 28, 1960 in Morton, TX. Patricia was raised and received her education in Morton, where she graduated high school. While in school she played basketball, and was rodeo queen her senior year, she loved riding horses. Patricia enjoyed knitting as she made numerous dish towels that she would give to her family and friends. Pat had a special place in heart for all children. She was a member of the Sunray Church of Christ and will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Melvin and Geral Davenport; and step dad: Robert Gordon Houghton. Patricia is survived by her husband Jimmy of the home; sons: Jimmy Capps Jr. and wife Lauri of Elephant Butte, NM, Robert Capps and wife Pat of Lovington, NM, and Warren Capps and wife Krista of Ceres, CA; daughter: Tresa Hardwick and husband Jim of Bridge City, TX; brother: Norman Houghton and wife Mary; half-sister: Kay Eiseman of Littleton, CO; half-brother: Ray Davenport of Keystone Heights, FL; grandchildren: Joshua Hardwick, Jaci Hardwick, Ryan Capps, Logan Capps, Aaron Capps, Daniel Capps, and Jacob Capps; great grandchildren: Kaylee Joy Hardwick, Abigail Grace Hardwick, Emma Faith Hardwick, Weston Lane Capps, and Gentry Hayes Capps.
