Patricia Lee Pigg Gipson 95 formerly of Dumas passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Memorial services are scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Seth Seale officiating. Private burial will be held at Northlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Beeson Morrison Funeral Directors.
Pat was born on November 1, 1929 in Sweetwater, TX to Virginia Caldwell Pigg and Murice Irvin Pigg. She married Edwin A. “Bud” Gipson on November 9, 1946, They were married for 46 years. She lived in Sunray for 25 years and moved to Dumas for the next 47 years, living 72 years in Moore County.
Pat was a member of the First Methodist Church of Dumas where she was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was also a retired member of the D.A.R. and well as member of the Eastern Star. Pat enjoyed playing bridge at the Senior Center. She loved to write poetry and was a Cowgirl Poet. Pat inherited a love for playing the piano from her mother and she passed it down to her daughter and granddaughter. Her favorite pastime was traveling to New Mexico and Colorado with friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her brother, John Pat Temples, Jr. and one daughter, Patti Jo.
Pat is survived by her daughter: Sharon Brewer of Amarillo; 4 grandchildren: Gay Harris of College Station, Jennifer Akins of Amarillo, Andrea Olivarez of Amarillo, and Bud Olivarez of Amarillo; 3 great-grandchildren: Devon Harris, Kate Stratton, Alecksi Olivarez; 1 great-great-granddaughter: Emma Rose Stratton.
