Paul R. Smith

Paul R. Sonny Smith, 74, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2009. Private graveside rites will be held at Dumas Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Sonny Smith was born September 2, 1935 in Guymon, Oklahoma to Raymond and Thelma Smith. He attended school in Dalhart and Tucson, Arizona. He was employed by Sears until his retirement in 1993 and Amarillo School District until his retirement in 2002. After his retirement he became an avid scroll saw craftsman exhibiting at shows and exhibits. Survivors include; daughters, Carrie Nagaswami of Albuquerque, NM and Bonnie Brown of California; son, Richard Smith of Tucson, AZ; 4 grandchildren; sister, Norma Jean Stewart of Amarillo; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends who loved him. The family suggests memorials be BSA Hospice, PO Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105.
