Phillis McMurry

Phillis McMurry, 78, of Dumas, died Thursday, August 24, 2006, in Dumas. Services will be Saturday, August 26, 2006, at 11:00 AM in First Christian Church with Rev. Darrell Wait, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Dumas Cemetery. Mrs. McMurry was born December 13, 1927, in Kelton, TX, to Claude and Annie B. Woodring Oglesby. On March 30, 1946, she married J. A. McMurry, Jr. in Lovington, NM. She was a longtime Dumas resident and a former Amarillo resident. She was a longtime Tuesday Bridge Club member and a member of St. Luke's Presbyterian Church of Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her husband and three sisters. Survivors include: one daughter, Roxann Allen and husband, James, of Dumas. The family requests memorials to Memorial Hospice, 224 E 2nd, Dumas, TX 79029.
