Randy Allen Hunter, 60 of Dumas, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2020. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 10 oclock in the morning on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Temple Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Fobbs, officiating. Interment will follow at Stinnett Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Friday from 5 oclock to 7 oclock in the evening at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.
Randy was born on January 8, 1960 in Borger, TX to W.R. and Gelene (Tyson) Hunter. He spent his early years in Dimmitt before the family moved to Dumas when he was 16 years old. He graduated from Dumas High School and later graduated from TSTI as a welder. Randy worked for Diamond Shamrock, Venables Construction and later DCP as a welder. He married Nancy Fisher on July 18, 1981 in Borger, TX and to this union Jason was born. Randy was an excellent welder and artist, he was even known to help or do his son and sisters art homework. He was also known for being punctual, if he wasnt fifteen minutes early to where he was going, he felt like he was late. Above all, Randy loved his family and always put their needs before his own. He attended Temple Baptist Church and will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by parents and grandparents.
Randy is survived by his son: Jason Hunter and wife Tiffany of Amarillo, TX; sister: Brenda Coffey and husband Robert of Dumas, TX; grandson: Raidon Conn of Amarillo, TX; nieces: Sidney Appleby and husband Wayne of Tulsa, OK and Jamie Perkins and fianc Steven Miles of Amarillo, TX; nephew: Joey Mercado and husband Edmund of Elk City, OK; Jasons mother: Nancy Thompson of Fritch, TX; numerous other extended family members.
