Ray Kennemer, 69 of Dumas, passed away Friday, July 23, 2021. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at 11:00 o’clock in the in the morning at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Matt Matzke, pastor of First Street Church officiating. Services are entrusted to Beeson-Morrison Funeral Directors.Ray was born on July 19, 1952, to Raymond and Jewel (Kimberlin) Kennemer in Ulysses, KS. After graduating from high school in Sublette, KS, Ray moved to Minneapolis, MN where he attended lab school. It was there that he met the love of his life, Kerry Spinler, and they married on July 1,1972 in Austin, MN. The couple moved to Dumas, TX and have made it their home since 1973. Ray worked as lab and x-ray tech for Moore County Hospital and then became an assistant operator at Valero. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, photography, and four-wheeling. Ray’s greatest love was his family and he enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.In addition to his parents, Ray is preceded in death by a brother; Kim Kennemer and his mother-in-law: Marlys Spinler.Ray is survived by his wife Kerry, of the home: daughters: Carisa Blackwell and husband Casy, of Dumas, TX, Julie Elston and husband Mark of Amarillo, TX: grandchildren; Brittany Payne and husband Andrew of Roanoke, TX, Emily Kennedy and husband Dakota of Amarillo, TX, Tyler Blackwell of Dumas, Haley and Sara Elston both of Amarillo: great-grandchildren: Emma and Austyn Payne of Roanoke,TX, Wyatt Kennedy of Amarillo; father-in-law: Richard Spinler of Austin, MN and many numerous nieces, nephews and other family.The family suggests with gratitude that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation at 191 Waukegan Rd Ste 105, Northfield, IL 60093 or Patient Advocate Foundation Co-Pay Relief, Attn: Finance, 421 Butler Farm Rd, Hampton, VA 23666.
