Reba Davis, 84 of Dalhart, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2012. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 5, 2012 in Stratford Cemetery. Hoyt Davis, Mrs. Daviss nephew, will be officiating. Mrs. Davis will lie in state at Morrison Funeral Directors in Stratford on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Reba was born on August 5, 1927 in Helena, Oklahoma to Fred and Sadie Austin. She was united in marriage to Ollie Davis on November 26, 1946 in Clayton, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on July 29, 1973. Reba had been a resident of Stratford for several years, before moving to Texline, and most recently to Dalhart. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Stratford. Reba was a loving and devoted homemaker who loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed crossword puzzles in her spare time. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Fred Edmond Davis in 1993, her brothers and sisters, and two grandchildren. Reba is survived by two daughters, Dora Bruns of Texline and Nancy Cottrill and husband Richard of Albuquerque, New Mexico her grandchildren, Misty Luther of Texline, Kimberly Mercer of Arizona, Karie Ryder of Dallas, Michael Herring of Amarillo, Tami Penrod of Washington, Danny Davis of Stratford and Deena Davis of south Texas and eleven great grandchildren.
