Richard Lloyd Leonard, 70 of Dumas, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2014. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 2 oclock in the afternoon on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Jay McGaughy, pastor of the church, officiating. A Graveside Service will follow at 1 oclock in the afternoon on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Oaklawn Cemtery in, Wynnewood, OK. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Richard was born February 7, 1944 to William and Laura Mae Stump Leonard in Texhoma, OK. He grew up in several different towns and graduated from Andrews High School. He was united in marriage to Sherry Hughes on June 1, 1991 in Dumas. Richard drove a truck for his career. He was most passionate about his family and was a man of strong faith he loved God. Richard was a member of Temple Baptist Church and will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents two sisters: Patty Brown and Sharon Ehli two brothers: William Billy and Samuel Buddy Leonard. Richard is survived by his wife Sherry of the home three sisters: Carolyn Sue, Mary Leonard, Judy Larner six brothers: David, Danny Joe, Marlin, Terri, Kenneth, Mike and Gary Leonard two stepchildren: Michael Donoho and Terri Adams two grandchildren: Robert and Danial Donoho. The family suggests memorials be made to Temple Baptist Church Building Fund, 311 N Maddox, Dumas TX 79029. The family will be at 503 Phillips Dr. in Dumas.
