Robert "Bob" Boyd

Robert “Bob” Boyd, 84, of Dumas, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Dr. David Bonner, friend of the family, officiating. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Bob was born June 11, 1939, in Childress, TX to B.J. and Lennie Louise (Wood) Boyd. After graduating from Samnorwood High School, Bob served his country in the US Army. After the Army he attended Draughons Business College. He married Peggy Love on May 14, 1965, in Beaver, OK. They would make Dumas their home and raise their children. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church since 1986. Family was very important to Robert and he kept busy following his children and grandchildren in their many school activities. Robert loved to watch all kinds of sports, especially the Cowboys, and helping local youth as a Boy Scout Leader and Dumas Wrestling Club. He liked gardening and western movies and traveling with his family. Bob will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents: son, Bryan Boyd: brothers; Johnny Boyd, Tommy Moss, Jimmy Moss and Sister In Law Joan Boyd.

He is survived by his wife Peggy of the home; son, Brent Boyd and wife Ritche of Dumas: brothers, Jackie Boyd of Euless, TX, Louis Boyd of Beleen, NM, and Acie Boyd and wife Margo of Lubbock, TX; Sister In Law, Sandy Boyd of Vernon, TX; granddaughters, Tracie Boyd of Dumas and Diana Boyd and fiancé Dylon Jones of Amarillo, TX; great granddaughter, Isabella Jones and great grandson, Liam Jones both of Amarillo, TX. Bob is also survived by many other numerous nieces and nephews as well as other extended family members.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to a charity of your choice.
