Robert Albert Brinkmann, Sr., 72 of Dumas, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024. Funeral Services are scheduled for 1 o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, May 3, 2024, at First Street Church, Dumas, with Mike Wilhem, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 o’clock to 8 o’clock in the evening on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be held at 10 o’clock in the morning on Monday, May 6, 2024, at Central Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery in Killeen, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.
Robert was born on April 29, 1951, in St. Louis, MO to Edward William and Nellie Pauline (Reese) Brinkmann. Robert joined the United States Army on October 30, 1970, and was stationed at Ft. Hood, TX where he met and married Rita Miller on May 15, 1976. After being discharged from the Army, Robert drove a truck in the oil fields and over the road before becoming a house parent at Cal Farley Boys Ranch. His greatest career accomplishment was earning his professional level certification for house parents. Robert loved to fish, hunt, golf, and to go on trips and cruises. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Margaret Brinkmann Hale, George Edward Brinkmann, William Lloyd Brinkmann.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Rita, of the home; children: Rebecca Boland, Diana Wyatt and husband Thomas, Rachal Fryman, Robert Albert Brinkmann, Jr. and wife Denia and Edward William Brinkmann; grandchildren: Ashley Brinkmann Sullins, Justine Wyatt, Tessa Wyatt, William Wyatt, Shaynna Oseguera, Kayla Fryman, Dominec Hill, Devon Fryman, Ty Boland, Seth Boland, Brianna Brinkmann, Breyden Brinkmann, Bristol Brinkmann, Landree Brinkmann, Amelia Brinkmann; and 23 Great-grandchildren.
The family requests, with gratitude, memorials be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TX 38108, Shriners Hospital for Children, P.O. Box 1525, Ranson, WV 25438, or Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.
