Robert R. Hibbs, 78 of Dumas, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 10 o’clock in the morning on Friday, 13, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church with pastor Mike Watson, officiating.
Rob was born on April 28, 1943 in Liberal, KS to Lawrence and Grace Ruby (Baird) Hibbs. He attended Dumas High School and in 1963 he married Linda Bishop. Rob worked for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline for 26 years and then Anadarko for 15 years. He was a Scout Master for the Boys Scout and a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church where he was a member.
Rob’s true passion was helping others, whether it be someone needing a ride, a warm place to stay or their lawnmower repaired. He truly loved serving others and was even awarded the first ever silent servant award from his church Calvary Baptist Church. Rob also loved his family and was the best grandpa a child could want.
Robert is survived by his wife, Linda Kay of the home; sons: Robert D. Hibbs of Dumas, TX, Don Hibbs and wife Sharie of Panhandle, TX; grandchildren: Cody Brown of Hays, KS Eric Hibbs of Panhandle, TX, Bob Hibbs of Hays, KS, Geary Don Hibbs of Panhandle, TX; sisters: Sandra Douglas of Amarillo, TX, Barbra Waddell and husband Bill of Odessa, TX; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
