Robert Charles Warren, 62 of Dumas passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 oclock in the morning on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Watson officiating and Roger Stewart, family friend assisting. The family will receive friends from 6pm-8pm on Monday evening at Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. Robert was born on June 8, 1958 in Canadian, TX to Bill and Ann Warren. His dad was in the service, and Robert spent the first two years of his life in Petaluma, California. He was the oldest of four children and as a young man he enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing football, hunting, camping, and showing pigs. He met Rena Green in 1977 and they frequently rode motorcycles together up and down Dumas Avenue with his dog, Bo. They were married on January 11, 1980 and made their home in Dumas, Texas where they raised their son and daughter. Robert pursued a career in telecommunications by working for various local telephone companies for 35 years. In 2012 he retired and began contract work for ADTS for the next 5 years. He took pride in being able to troubleshoot in his daily task. Some of his favorite workdays were when he had the opportunity to interact with co-workers and build new friendships in the community. He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and sound equipment operator for many years. Robert was known for his deep love and devotion to his family. His grandchildren who adored his feistiness, compassion, and playful spirit called him Pops. His hobbies and interest always included being with his family and spending time doing the things they loved. He was a volunteer firefighter for Dumas Fire Department and served in many roles with the Moore County Jr. Livestock Association. During his years of retirement, Robert enjoyed hunting, camping, and being with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Warren; and in-laws, John and Faye Green. He is survived by his wife of the home, Rena Warren. His mother, Ann Warren. Two children: Dustin Warren and wife Angela of Sunray, TX and Jennifer Warren and fianc Brandon Barton of Canyon, TX. Six grandchildren: Kate, Brooke, Kaden, Breken, Cree, and Jace. Two brothers: Eldon Warren and wife Brenda of Henderson, TX and Darrel and wife Cara Warren of Florence, TX. One sister, Rhonda Rowell of Amarillo, TX. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of extended family and friends. A special thanks to the Moore County Hospice and Roberts nurse, Sheryl Cox.
