Roberto Soto Rubalcava, 77 of Dumas, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2011. Roberto will lie in state at Morrison Memorial Chapel in Dumas on Sunday, August 07, 2011, beginning at 12:00 P.M. Rosary will be said at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, August 8, 2011 at Morrison Memorial Chapel in Dumas. The funeral mass is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Sts. Peter Paul Catholic Church in Dumas with Fr. Juan Carlos Barragan officiating. Interment will follow in Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Roberto was born on June 12, 1934 in Juarez, Mexico to Anselmo Soto and Jesus Rubalcava. He married Maria Castro, who preceded him in death. Roberto moved here from Juarez to live with his family. He spent the last fifteen years staying with his two daughters and their families in both Dumas and Cactus. He was a member of Sts. Peter Paul Catholic Church in Dumas. He loved to walk, which he did frequently. He was very outgoing and friendly. One of his favorite pass times was spending time outside of Cactus Groceries, where he loved to converse with all of the patrons. Roberto was a beloved and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Anselmo Soto and Jesus Rubalcava his wife, Maria Castro and one sister, Emilia Soto.
Roberto is survived by two daughters, Manuela Vasquez and husband Charlie of Cactus and Laura Fuentes and husband Lucio of Dumas one step daughter, Antonia Juarez of Amarillo two step sons, Fernando Hernandez and wife Anna, and Ramon Hernandez and wife Elizabeth, both of Cactus two sisters, Micaela Soto and Maria Silva, both of Juarez one brother, Julian Calan Soto of Albuquerque twentyeight grandchildren thirtysix greatgrandchildren and eight great greatgrandchildren.
