Ronald Duane Ronnie Burns, 60, of Dumas, died Thursday, December 28, 2006, in Dumas. Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 6, 2007, at 1:00 PM in Morrison Memorial Chapel with Rev. David McGeary, family friend, officiating. Flag detail will be by American Legion Post 224 of Dumas. Mr. Burns was born February 11, 1946, in Norman, OK, to L. D. and Montye Louise Lou Herring Burns. He was a 1964 graduate of Dumas High School and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Thailand, serving as a mechanic on B-52 airplanes and received an Honorable Discharge from the Air Force. He was a pipefitter by trade and a former Glen Rose resident, but lived most of his life in Dumas. He was preceded in death by his mother Lou Burns on November 4, 1994 and his father, L. D. Burns on December 18, 2000. Survivors include: two sons, Jackson Ross Burns and wife, Laura of Rainbow, TX and Cody Burns of Nemo, TX; two sisters, Linda Sissy Robinson and husband, Randall of Borger and Teresa Alexander and husband, Danny of Suffolk, VA and special people in his life, Shelly and Amber Watson. The family requests memorials to Dumas VFW Post 9022, 330 W. 1st St, Dumas, TX 79029.
