Ronald Dow

Ronald ''Ronny'' Dow, 75 of Dumas, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2015. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 2 o' clock in the afternoon on Monday November 2nd at First Baptist Church with Rev Jerry Howe, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-5 o' clock in the afternoon on Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas. Ronny was born on September 27, 1940 to Eldon and Kathryn (Bassham) Dow in Dumas, TX. He was reared and educated in Dumas and was proud to be a Dumas High School graduate. On June 20, 1962, he married the love of his life, Doris Barton, in Dumas. Ronny had a great love for his church and church family. He had a passion in assisting with the Laotian Mission in any way that he was able. Ronny was the kind of guy that always had a smile for anyone that he came in contact with and believed that what you put out into this world is what you got back. One of the things that kept him going strong was taking care of his grandchildren and great grandchildren; he cherished the times he got to spend with them as he picked them up for school every morning. He was the jack of all trades and had many hobbies; he enjoyed being a cowboy for many years, was an avid fisherman, loved to read and do crossword puzzles. They were also owners of Dow's Upholstery. Ronny was retired from maintenance at the Moore County Courthouse. He was a member of First Baptist Church and will be missed by his family and countless friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; and two grandchildren: John Paul Jones and Sarah Jones. Ronny is survived by his wife: Doris of the home; three daughters: Kathy Jones of Amarillo, Sandi Allen and husband Jerry of Dumas and Mattye Calvery and husband James of Dumas; seven grandchildren: Kristina, Eric, Jennifer, Tashya, Christopher, Skylar and Shaela; five great grandchildren: Mykia, Kadince, Evan, Sareenah and Everett; one soon to be great grandson: Daxton; one brother: Eldon 'Lee' Dow and wife Carol of Henrietta, OK; and numerous extended family and friends. The family will be at 1206 Beard. The family suggest memorials be to The Laotian Mission, PO BOX 617 Dumas, TX 79029 or Project Graduation, in care of DHS.
