Roque Garcia Valencia

Roque Garcia Valencia, 69 of Dumas, passed away late Tuesday evening May 19, 2020. The rosary will be recited at 6 oclock in the evening on Friday, May 22, 2020 at Morrison Memorial Chapel. A graveside service is scheduled 11 oclock in the morning on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Lane Memorial Cemetery in Sunray, TX with Father Gabriel Garcia officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Roque was born November 17, 1950 in Galeana Chihuahua, Mexico to Emilio and Hortencia (Garcia) Valencia, Sr. He married Georgia Ortiz in Clovis, New Mexico on May 20, 1972. They made Dumas their home for over 25 years and Roque worked for JBS. He was a mechanical minded person who loved fixing cars. Roque enjoyed travelling to family events and picking on his grandkids. There were many hugs when family visited. One of his favorite events was to play the casino slot machines. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Dumas and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Roque was preceded in death by his parents: Emilio Valencia Sr. and Hortencia Garcia; a daughter, Patricia Valencia; a sister, Hortencia Mendoza and his father in law, Donicio Ortiz. He is survived by his wife Georgia of the home; sons: Gabriel Valencia and wife Nancy of Amarillo, TX and Marcos Valencia of Dumas, TX: daughters; Maricella Spencer of Amarillo, TX and Mariah Trish Valencia of Dumas, TX: sisters; Maria Mata of Plainview, TX, Martha Valencia of San Antonio, TX, Teresa Vera of Lazbuddie, TX and Susie Valencia of Amarillo, TX: brothers; Manuel Valencia of Amarillo, TX, and Emelio Valencia, Jr. of Etter, TX: and his mother in law; Cecilia Ortiz of Las Vegas, NM.
