Rosa Lee Kalka

Rosa Lee Kalka, 74 of Dumas, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2012. The Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, April 9, 2012 at Sts. Peter Paul Catholic Church in Dumas, with Father Maria Joseph Pudhota as celebrant. Interment will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Rosa Lee was born on September 22, 1937 in Springtown, Texas to William and Nona Plumlee Gilliland. She was united in marriage to Carroll Kalka on February 20, 1970 in Dumas. They were married for twentyfive years and raised three children. He preceded her in death in 1995. Rosa Lee had been a resident of the Dumas community for over forty years. She was employed by Moore County as an extension agent until her retirement. She was a Devout Catholic, and a member of Sts. Peter Paul Catholic Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed needlepoint projects. In addition to her husband, Carroll, she was also preceded in death by her parents, William and Nona Gilliland. Rosa Lee is survived by two daughters, Leah Gibson and husband Monty of College Station and Nikki Samaniego and husband Mitchell of Hutto one son, Kevin Kalka of Denton one brother, Bill Gilliland of Farmers Branch, TX and three grandchildren. The family will be at 504 Melinda Lane in Dumas.
