Rosa Lopez, 86 of Dumas passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. A Rosary will be recited at 6 o’clock in the evening on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Morrison Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Luis Lopez, as celebrant. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.
Rosa was born on May 8, 1937, in Wynoka, OK to Herculano and Paz (Ramirez) Garcia. She was united in marriage to Fidel Lopez in 1959 in Canadian, TX. Rosa had resided in Dumas since 1967 where she and Fidel raised their children. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Rosa loved her grandchildren. She also enjoyed sports. Her favorite sports teams were the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs.
Rosa was a former business owner. She owned Teresa’s Kitchen, Lyn Bragg, Josie Quick Stop, and Mrs L Hair Fashions. Rosa was a devote Catholic and often volunteered her time to church functions as well as CCD classes. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her son: Efren Lopez; granddaughters: Jackie Lopez and Rebecca Lopez.
She is survived by her husband, Fidel, of the home; children: Michael S. Lopez of Dumas, TX, Elizabeth Ragon and husband James of Amarillo, TX, Cindy Dodich and husband Robert of Amarillo, TX, Fidel A. Lopez Jr. and wife Heather of Bountiful, UT; daughter-in-law: Brandi Lopez; grandchildren: Tim, Greg, Josh, Erik, Kasondra, Brandon, Tami, Rashonda, Micaela, Jade, Spencer, Kaden, and Shea; 19 great-grandchildren.
